“From a marketing perspective, what do you think about “tagging” in MyBlogLog? Is it a good way to gain readership?” Brian LeBars from Green Mortgage Group asked the other day.
Brian, the simple answer is “Yes.”
MyBlogLog is #8 out of 75 traffic tactics you’ll discover here at SuperBloggingTips:
“Use MyBlogLog. Make sure you have an eye-catching avatar. Then join all the MyBlogLog communities you can (daily limit of 15). In no time your avatar will be all over all the MyBlogLog blog and community pages, and you’ll see more and more visitors coming to you.”
Jack Humphrey shares hundreds of blog marketing tactics in his excellent resource, Authority Black Book.
(Bonus: here’s Jack’s take on MyBloglog)
Yep, Brian, time spent using MyBlogLog will gain you readers, but you want more than readers now, don’t ‘cha?
Notice that the SuperBloggingTips traffic tactics list starts and ends with:
Number 1: Create Great Content.
Number 75: Be Yourself.
It all starts with creating great content. Content that your solves the problems of your targeted readers. A solid foundation of marketing strategy helps you create great content. Roll up your sleeves, dig in and do in-depth market research. What keeps your target readers… your potential Ideal Clients… tossing and turning, waking up in a cold sweat at night? What gets their blood absolutely boiling? What do they dream about?
For example, one thing that would fry my ass as a “green” mortgage prospect is:
“Why in the hell do they have to kill so many damn trees to process my mortgage?”
And always…
Be Yourself.
Each and every one of us possess a unique combination of talents, strengths, experiences, and insights that not another soul on Earth has… past, present, or future.
The challenge for all of us is to discover who we are and boldly share it. In this sharing, we serve and help each other.
So, here’s the thing:
Yep, MyBlogLog is one (of hundreds) marketing tactic that will result in readers. But, you convert readers into paying clients when you convince them that you deeply understand their dreams, desires, and are uniquely qualified to help them solve their problems and achieve their hearts’ desires.

Very cool. That gave a way to help define what we are looking for. After all, that’s what it’s all about with bloging. Finding what we are looking for when we want to find it.

Thanks Brian… hope it helps.
My vision here is to create a great big resource of marketing tools… with my strategic perspective and sometimes “marketing tough-love” commentary.

Walt,
Excellent resources! I like the 75 tips to Super Blogging and I will have to look closer at that list.
I am launching a new blog to be announced soon.
In the meantime I will be using some of this information on tagging to get the word out! Thanks!
