This week, I suggested to one of my clients, a computer retailer and repair business, to try this line when they answer the phone or greet someone who shows up at their store:
“What computer challenge may we help you solve today?”

Empathy with the customer - still a very rare commodity despite all the books and courses that teach it.I was at a coffee shop yesterday and was given an electronic buzzer thing (like a pager) that was supposed to bleep me when my food was ready. Typically it never bleeped and when the coffee shop staff eventually brought my food I was roundly scolded for switching the bleeper off!Firstly, I had not switched it off (don’t even know how to) and, secondly, being scolded like that caused me something of a sense of humour failure. I will be taking my business to a different coffee shop in the future.Don’t these people realise who pays their salaries..!?Cheers,Martin.
