Just returned from a hugely successful seminar tour

in Australia over an extended five-week period.

What a great time Bethany and I had! We even took

a three-day trip on a five-star gourmet train from

Sydney to Perth. It’s called the Indian Pacific. On

the way we stopped for a few hours in interesting

places like Adelaide, Broken Hill and Kalgoorlie.

If you ever get a chance to experience this travel

adventure, especially if you love trains, don’t miss

it!

On the business scene, I was very surprised that

Australian entrepreneurs are completely tuned into

news about the U.S. economy and the fears of

recession. When the U.S. sneezes, the whole world

catches cold.

These are dangerous but exciting times.

I’m getting lots of subscriber questions from those

worried about their business and finances.

Let’s take a hard look at what makes the world go

round. Money. Let’s examine the money situation as

it applies to every first-world country, especially the

U.S.

There are currently 8 million houses with negative

equity in the U.S. right now. Millions of home

owners owe more on their house than it’s worth.

Everyone has been hit - the poor, rich and middle

class have all been severely affected. And it’s

going to get worse before it gets better.

By Christmas 10 million people will be unemployed

in the U.S. The experts say over 2,000,000 people

in England will be without a job. Even undesirable

jobs are tough to find.

The big three auto makers, G.M, Ford and Chrysler,

are all facing bankruptcy.

Consumers have begun to reduce their standard of

living by cutting spending.

But as always, as an entrepreneur, because of the

many options open to you, you can survive and

even prosper during these times.

To succeed in this environment you’ve got to look

at the realities. And stop buying all the nonsense

so-called experts and the media are currently

reporting.

Here is how I see it.

Every 20 years or so we experience a recession.

Recessions are therefore cyclical. And by their

nature temporary. This recession is worse than

most. But the medicine, the cure, the solution, is

evident.

In general consumers as well as most business

owners are tuning into and listening to the wrong

music.

You don’t have to follow the crowd. I’ve always

made far more money during recessions than so-

called good times. And so can you.

I’m going to provide, in a moment, some tough love.

I provide my suggestions on what action you can

and should take. But for many because the steps are

not easy, some may be a bitter pill to swallow.

Others will enjoy the process enormously.

When you pass through these times unscathed, you

will prosper like you never have before!

It’s a fact while many are suffering, there are some

who are getting very rich. And you can be one of

them.

Here are some survival strategies open to you:

** Debt **

You must become debt free as soon as possible.

There are lots of untruths told about money. Here is

the biggest money lie of all. You can spend your

way to wealth by taking on debt, according to many

people. English, European, Australian, Asian and

American consumers have accepted this myth.

This is, of course, ridiculous. The only long-range

beneficiaries of uncontrolled consumer spending are

banks and insurance companies. Consumers stay

broke while lenders get rich.

The only sure road to lasting wealth presently is the

same as it ever was. Via savings and investment.

To be able to save you must take immediate steps to

get out of debt. This includes paying off credit card

debt, car loans. And finally your mortgage.

Just imagine what life would be like for you without

car payments, credit card payments and mortgage

payments!

Finally, you will be in position to help like never

before your family, loved ones and favorite

charities.

Instead of being a debtor your whole life, you must

become debt free. This will move you towards

becoming a creditor. A much more advantageous

position.

You also must learn to generate several new streams

of income.

What rich people know that poor people do not is

this. The best form of income is passive income.

Poor people exchange time for money. They live

paycheck to paycheck their whole lives.

Unlike poor people, rich people don’t work for

money. Instead they invest their money and make it

work for them. Thus they collect various forms of

passive income. This includes rents, dividends and

interest.

The rich also recognize the very best form of

passive income is from royalties. The resultant

passive income from intellectual property is

completely unique. You do the work once and

collect royalties forever from books, newsletters,

special reports, software and inventions.

The most outstanding wealth-building vehicle of all

is a business of your own. Every self-made

millionaire and billionaire owns their own business.

The good news. It’s easier, faster and costs less

today to become an entrepreneur while holding

down a job. You can start in your spare time while

keeping your day job. And you can build a business

working right out of your home.

During a recession some business categories

actually perform much better than in good times.

There may never be a better time to start a business

than right now.

But, as I’ve described, you must take steps to reduce

debt and expenses at once. Only then can you fully

cash in on all the opportunities that may be open to

you.

Debt reducing actions include:

* Get rid of car payments. Sell your car. You are

not really impressing anybody. Buy a pre-owned

compact car. Of course, you will also use less

expensive gasoline

* Sell or refinance your house. Alternatively, if you

are “under water” talk with your bank now about a

moratorium on further payments for a period of

time. Or negotiate to refinance and reduce your

payments until you sell it

* Live rent free. Once you sell your house look for a

duplex. Negotiate a 90 day lease option on a one

year lease on a duplex home in a decent

neighborhood. Before you close the deal and move

in, find a renter who pays you enough to cover your

lease. You can accomplish this and spend very little

or no money

And because a place to live is one of life’s

necessities there are always people who are

interested in renting

* Get rid of credit card debt. It’s costing you as

much as 22 per cent or more in interest. This level

of interest will kill your finances. Cut up all credit

cards except one until you can completely pay it

off. If you can’t pay cash, simply don’t buy it

* Slash clothing costs. Discover the beauty and

creativity of shopping for beautiful clothes in thrift

and “second hand” shops

** Savings **

You must master the art of delayed gratification. To

become very wealthy, discover what has been

correctly deemed the “8th wonder of the world” -

compound interest. Save and invest 15 per cent

of your earnings from here on. I’ve been doing

this starting at age 20.

If you save just $1 a day from age 20 to age 60 you

could retire with $1,000,000 in cash.

Start a recession-proof business in your spare time.

Some of the most attractive are those that help

customers earn or save money. There are numerous

examples. They include information publishing,

fast-food restaurants, cafes, discount stores and

services. Others are mail order companies, bargain

shops, temporary help agencies, repair services,

discount realtors, discount stock brokers, thrift

shops, second owner shops, etc.

** Governments **

Don’t make the mistake of fully trusting any

government on this planet. All work to perpetuate

their power, not protect your rights and freedom.

Employ a personal multi-flag system involving at

least three countries. (1) live in one county; (2) Set

up your business in a second country; (3) Keep your

money in a third country.

** Investment Advice **

Make sure your advisers are successful. Never take

investment advice from anyone unless they can

prove they are wealthy, or at least as rich as you.

And also have gotten rich by following their

recommendations to you.

Many investment advisers who I’ve questioned have

confessed to me their surprise that more clients

don’t ask them questions about their own wealth.

Choose advisers carefully. Ninety percent of

investment advisers I’ve grilled have surprisingly

little to show as far as wealth is concerned. Indeed,

many are broke. Stop taking business advice from “broke”

people. This includes friends and relatives. When I

stopped doing this I immediately started becoming

much more successful and wealthy.

** The Best Investment **

The best investment you can ever make is in your

own real-world education. When you build your

knowledge it can never be taken away from you.

Invest in books, DVDs, CDs and seminars. I’ve

invested over $50,000 annually for many years in

my education. And it continues - life is a continuing

learning process.

Remember, you can become an expert within three

years on any topic by reading just one hour a day.

You can become a world authority in 5 years.

** Skills **

Learn to sell. Effective selling may be the one skill

that practically guarantees you will get or keep a

job, especially during a recession.

Business is selling. You cannot make money unless

you master selling. This should be taught in school.

But it’s not.

Instead of honoring the selling profession it is often

criticized and even “put down” by professors,

books, movies and plays, i.e., “Death of a

Salesman” by Arthur Miller, etc.

Contrary to common belief, effective selling is the

highest paid job in the world.

Even less well known is this. Selling using the

written word is far more lucrative than personal

sales. And copywriting is a learned not an inborn

skill.

Bottom line is this. You can learn how to become a

wealthy and highly sought after copywriter. Many

of my students earn $100,000, $250,000, $500,000

and more. Several are millionaires.

During tough times copywriters tend to be busier

during these times than ever. Why? To survive,

business owners must continue to bring in new

customers regardless of the economic situation.

As a professional copywriter you can write your

own paycheck. And be completely free to create

whatever lifestyle you choose.

Sales are, of course, the lifeblood of every business.

If you are working for a company and can prove

you can bring in sales through creating sales copy,

you will never be laid off or fired.

** The Most Important Investment Decision No

One Talks About **

In what currency do you do business?

The strength of the currency in which you keep

your investments is crucial to your economic health.

This includes shares, bonds, insurance annuities.

Yet few advisers ever bring it up. The reality? Most

have no clue or knowledge about its importance.

It’s crucial to diversify the currencies amongst

several strong ones in which you hold investments.

The world’s wealthiest people utilize currencies

such as the Swiss Franc, Australian Dollar,

Norwegian Kroner and the Euro.

Unfortunately, the U.S. dollar has been one of the

worlds weakest currencies especially during the last

few years. That’s why the super wealthy such as

Buffet, Gates and Soros have moved their cash

completely out of U.S. dollars for at least three

years. I have not had a single investment denominated

in dollars for several years.

** The Bailout **

I oppose the bailout. Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, IMG

and the “Big 3″ auto companies got into bad shape

due to poor decisions and ineffective management

who have made numerous blunders.

Each of these companies needs to be completely

restructured. Not given billions of dollars to the

same or similar weak, ineffective management that

caused the problems. And the U.S. taxpayer is

going to have to pay every penny. To put these

same people who have destroyed their companies in

charge of billions makes no sense whatsoever.

That’s like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse

and expecting a good result.

The solution? I personally don’t think bankruptcy of

these entities is the end of the world. Just like the

airlines have done they could reorganize and

restructure. They could bring in new management.

And financing could be done on the free market.

The market should be allowed to work and cleanse

itself of ineffective companies and management.

Instead, simply by giving money to these poorly run

companies, the U.S. is tossing out the free market.

And not solving the basic problem in any way. All

these companies will have their hands out for more

money very soon.

This is a very dangerous road indeed. Free markets

are what has made the U.S. the envy of the world.

There is a proven system in the U.S. for companies

who need to reorganize. It’s called Chapter 11

under the bankruptcy law.

What about consumers who are being foreclosed

upon? I don’t wish them any more suffering. But

what has happened to individual responsibility?

To expect the government (meaning other

taxpayers) to bail homeowners out of a house whose

price and payments without a down payment they

could never afford, should not be the responsibility

of other taxpayers. Especially the more responsible

and frugal ones.

** Obama the U.S. President Elect and the

Democratic Congress **

As a libertarian I favor free markets, small

government, and maximum individual freedom.

The election of President Elect Obama was clearly a

vote not for him, but against the enormously

unpopular President Bush.

I am actually happy about the historic choice of

an African-American U.S. president. This will

inspire in many ways the African-Americans,

Latinos and other minorities in the U.S. and

throughout the world.

Finally, many racial barriers have been lowered.

However, I’m also concerned about the near future.

Not just for myself. But for my children, friends

and clients who live in the U.S. Right now the U.S.

needs lower taxes and smaller government. Obama seems

to favor higher taxes and bigger government. This

clearly is the wrong direction and won’t work.

I can only hope and pray that once in office the new

president will be persuaded by taxpayers as well as

his advisers to reverse course on many big

financial issues.

I will share my thoughts and suggestions with

Obama. Whatever your views are, I hope you do the

same. Especially if you are an American citizen.

I trust your recession strategy will give your

business a success margin.

“Too busy to be marketing?”
Huh?

Huh?

According to Jon McCulloch, “that’s kinda like being too out of breath to worry about breathing.”

Jon’s newsletter article explains:

Marketing is the engine of your business. If you don’t do it, then it won’t be long before you don’t have a business at all.

And the time to be marketing is all the time, but ESPECIALLY when you’re busy.

Why?

Because just like winter always follows summer and autumn, if you’re busy now, you have quiet times ahead.
And if you don’t sow, you don’t reap.

And when you’re quiet, it’s kind of too late. Yes, you need to market, but you can’t do it at the expense of serving the clients you do have superlatively well, since your best chance of boosting your revenue quickly is to delight them and either get referrals or sell them more.

The good news is, marketing is easy. It’s one of the vital few things you can do to bring in the business.

It doesn’t have to take long, it doesn’t have to cost a bundle, and it doesn’t have to be crafted for you by some hideously expensive copywriter like me, either.

Because good marketing is built on relationships, and they cost almost nothing but time and effort. And not much of either.

A phone call to find out how people are; a short friendly email; a note attached to an article you clipped out of the paper for them; a book you saw at the bookstore you knew they’d like.

One thing I have my MasterMind members doing is a list of at least 6 things they do each day to bring in new business. John Slater bust a gut and wrote a list of 10.
But, then, he reaps rewards commensurate with his efforts.

Here’s a piece of advice for you. If you’re too busy to get some marketing done, I have just the perfect solution: keep doing exactly what you’re doing now.

Don’t change a single thing.

And I promise, it won’t be long before you have all the time in the world to think about what I’ve just shared with you.

Now, for a rock-solid, practical perspective on marketing your local small business, subscribe to Jon’s newsletter … right now.

P.S.— Jon also has a FREE monthly print newsletter… he doesn’t even ding you for shipping and handling. He’s in Ireland. Got my FREE copy in the mail last week… and it didn’t suck.

Yes, this too, shall pass.

Are you laughing off these trying times?

And preparing for the Best?

Why The Bad Economy Is Good For You

The economy is getting bad, they tell you.
The economy is getting worse, they tell you.
The implosion is about to come, they tell you.

And Leo Burnett would laugh (or at the very least, softly chuckle).

Leo, who?

It was the Great Depression. The economy had done exactly what everyone said it would. It tanked. And it was at this very point, that Leo decided to leave New York. Now, this may not seem very relevant to you, except for the fact that New York was the advertising capital of the United States. It was New York or Hicksville.

Well, at least ‘Hicksville’ in the advertising world.

Well, Leo didn’t care

He moved to Chicago. And not only did he move, but he set up his own advertising agency, with his own principles, and his own sense of above-standard ethics. And his competition jeered.

They pointed to the people selling apples on the street.

“You’ll soon sell apples on the street”, they mocked with one voice

“Not only will I not sell apples,” said Leo,”but I will give them away.” Leo refused to bow down. Instead he believed in himself, and put in more effort than ever before. And Leo Burnett went on to grow one of the largest advertising agencies in the world: The Leo Burnett Agency.

And eighty years or so later, that agency–formed at the core of the Great Depression–is still going, and going, and going.

And that’s because Leo refused to bow down.

So are you bowing down?

You should be. If you read the newspapers, they’re telling you it’s all kaput. If you listen to the news, it’s pretty much ditto.

And even if you escaped all that, there are at least half a dozen emails in your in-box reminding you about beefing up your knowledge; perhaps attending a workshop so that you can rise above the imploding economy.

And yucky as it sounds, those emails are right

When times get tougher, it’s not time to be bowing and scraping. It’s time to do exactly what the masses are not doing. And the masses are masses, because they all act alike. They’re all scared witless, and all cutting back. And if you want to be with the masses, then you’ll be cutting back too.

Which is what I’d do every June and July

June and July were officially the ‘thunderstorm’ months of the year, way back in 1997. They were also the worst months of the year in 1998. And 1999, as you would expect. My business (which was cartooning back then) would sputter. It would stall.

And I’d sit witless in my office, having to pay staff who had little or nothing to do. And I’d moan and groan about how life was unfair. Till I had a little conversation with my mother.

“You should spend the quiet months, getting ready for the not-so-quiet months,” she said. “You won’t get anywhere with that moping. And you won’t get any smarter.” Luckily I took her advice. Every time the ‘bad months’ came along, we’d spend time learning, and educating ourselves.

I’d buy new software, new hardware, and do a lot of self-education through books, materials and workshops. The staff would spend time improving their skills, and getting ready for the ‘thunderstorm’ to pass

And eventually it would pass

And the work would flow in by the truckloads. And we’d be better placed in terms of hardware, software and capabilities. And it was all because we didn’t care to follow the masses.

The masses are still moaning.
They’re still telling you that the economy is getting bad.
They’re still telling you that it’s going to get worse.
They’re talking about implosion.

And you’ve got a choice

You can buckle down, and cower.
Or you can do what Leo Burnett did.
Learn. Spend more time upgrading your skills.

And you don’t have to buy anything

Use the public library.
Borrow information from friends, if you have to. And if you can, invest in new hardware, software, and especially upgrade your skills.

Because the storm will pass. It has to!

Yes, the economy may be tanking, but things will change. And when it does, you’ll come out smarter, and better placed than everyone else.

Ask Leo. He not only didn’t end up selling apples like everyone on the street, but he actually gave them away. So if you were to walk into a Leo Burnett agency anywhere in the world today, you’ll be guaranteed to see a bowl of apples at the reception. And yes, you can have it, absolutely free!

Pick it up. And eat it.
Taste the depression. And the method to rise above that depression.

And as you crunch into that apple, somewhere in the heavens, Leo will softly chuckle.

John had a dream. He wanted to live his passion and make a difference in the world. He knew that self-employment was a key to creating wealth and freedom. So John set out to be the owner of his own business. He did everything right. He watched what other successful people were doing. He modeled their behavior, their choices and implemented their strategies for success.

Every day he got up and envisioned his successful business – how he was making a difference in the world, creating 200k+ revenue, and speaking all over the country spreading his message. He even saw clearly how his best-selling book would transform the lives of his target audience. He really was building a successful business and his friends were envious.

One day, he woke up and just couldn’t do it anymore. He was burned out, frustrated and overwhelmed. It was like he had “lost that lovin’ feeling” and his dream was crumbling.
John asked me to help him stop feeling overwhelmed so he could put the fun and freedom back into his life. Within our first conversation, John realized…

He had climbed someone else’s mountain!

The success he created belonged to his colleagues and friends – it is what they wanted! By asking for their help and support along the way, he had successfully built THEIR DREAM. Not his.

Ouch. Now what? John needed to reconnect with his own dream.

Following are 5 Strategies to Turn Your Business Around in Record Time so you can have more time off, rekindle the passion and grow your revenue exponentially.

Identify What is Currently Working. No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Start by writing down what’s working and what’s not. Then take each “not” and figure out how to switch it to something that will work. Having a business that you love is based on aligning your passion with money-making opportunities. Sometimes we’ve just been living in our “old box” so long we can’t even see how to repackage it so it works better.

Get Specific About Your End Game. What DID you want your life to be like when you started your business? Did you choose a path that would allow you to experience it? Or did you basically just recreate a job? Often times we lose the connection to why we created the business in the first place. Just because your mentor or idol loves traveling all over the world, 325 days a year doesn’t mean that you will. By creating a business that serves YOUR lifestyle goals, you will experience greater passion, momentum and speed. Your job is to make choices every day based on your values, priorities and highest ROI opportunities.

Create Space Immediately. The most difficult conversation I have with my clients is the one where they have to say no to money in the short term to make room for their longer term dream. In order to turn your business around, you have to reestablish your foundation. That might mean taking a week off to complete the exercises I give you on values and priorities (you can find them in the ULTIMATE Success Generator as well.) it might mean investing in building your team now vs. spending all your money on marketing strategies. You need to realign your resources on the business you want, not the business you have!

Make “Big” Decisions. Your success will hinge on whether you decide to play your biggest game. If you are on the wrong mountain, you must be brave and courageous enough to reroute your path immediately. Sometimes that means creating an exit strategy from your current role. Failure occurs when we don’t listen to that voice inside saying, “this isn’t working for me.” No matter what you think will happen, your life and business will be 10,000 times better by saying yes to more of what you love.

Live by Standards. Be very clear with yourself and the world around you about what you will (and won’t) do. Set an intention to uphold these standards and watch how the world shifts to accommodate it. When you follow other experts and how they built their path to success it’s easy to just duplicate their steps. But that’s how you can end up in the wrong place. Your life, your priorities and your values are unique to you! So be sure to take the gems from your mentors and morph them to your standards.

When you are crystal-clear about how you really want to live and climb your own mountain, you will have an experience of effortless action. It’s almost like you would pay someone else to show up every day and do your work. It’s not a job, it’s an indescribable passion that you are compelled to express. Nothing and no one can stand in your way.

By the way, John decided to follow my advice and give up speaking across the country. He adapted a new standard of speaking only for his target audience where he got paid over $20k and could sell his programs from the stage. He built up a very amazing business coaching and consulting with other speakers who wanted to learn how to build their own speaking business. He now spends 300 days a year in his home town making 3 times as much as he did on the road. Congrats John!

When you reconnect with that lovin’ feeling, watch out world. You will be unstoppable!
What brave choice will you make to get on the right mountain for you?

So, I’m inside, cool and comfy, spending the morning connecting some marketing dots in my head.

First off, Coach Deb’s video and post, “Is the Sick Sense Scaring Off Your Profits?”

Yes, with all the social marketing tools, isn’t it mind-boggling how downright pathetic and inept most marketing and sales attempts are? Pay attention to the marketing messages aimed at you. TV, radio, magazine, and newspaper ads. Pay attention when someone puts the “sales pitch” on you. Learn from it… and… in most cases:

Don’t be like that guy (or babe)!

Be genuine, be different , be unique, be transparent, real, and honest. Oh yeah, and understand, not everyone is a prospect for your product/service, but adopt a mindset of “thankful and patient abundance.”

So, speaking of “abundance”, next thanks to an email from Jack Humphrey, I checked out Joe Vitale’s Hypnotic Marketing 2.0.

Dr. Joe Vitale’s Drawing of “The Age of Engagement”

Mr. Fire does spin one hellva marketing story in his sales letters. They are truly “Hypnotic.”

And, the $27 for the information he provides here is a steal.

WARNING: Some of you are going to be turned off by Dr. Joe’s 4 attempts to up-sell you after you place your order. Be patient, learn, and only buy more of his info if you truly want it. Plus, all his info carries a full 365 day money-back guarantee.

Better yet: Print out all his sales pages, study them, and re-create their essence and apply and test them on your own products.

And, the third dot… Sean D’Souza’s article that follows.

Each of us has within us, “Most Wanted” Information.

Marketing is unleashing this information and presenting it in a way that those who really need it want it.

___________________

___________________

How To Attract Clients With ‘Most-Wanted’ Information

http://www.psychotactics.com/artmost-wanted

Imagine you had a handicapped child.

And now this child is twenty years old and reasonably self-sufficient. Self-sufficient enough for you to decide you want to get back in the work force.

But twenty years have passed.

What will you do?

Your qualifications are worthless. Your experience doesn’t count for much. And you’re intimidated as hell

So let’s start with what you know.

What you do know is how to care for a handicapped child.

You know what that child needs in their first year. Their second year; fifth year; seventh year; nineteenth year. You know what it is to be a parent of that child.
What you have is ‘most-wanted’ information.

So what is ‘most-wanted’ information?

Um, it’s kind of self-explanatory, but let’s explain it anyway. ‘Most-wanted’ information is simply a tiny slice of information that’s of great value to a potential audience. It’s not the entire saga of what you know. It’s just a tiny, tiny bit. So let’s take an example: Let’s say you’re in business.

What kind of information would be of extreme value to you?

You’d be interested in marketing strategy, sales letters, websites, and blah-dee-blah-dee-blah.

But that’s the whole saga. What if I avoided the saga, and gave you just ‘most-wanted’ information?
Information on a niche of a topic.

Like ‘pricing’, for example.

What if I were to say to you, that you could get a document/audio/video/ or even a bunch of ideas scribbled on a napkin.
And those ideas enabled you to:

1) Get the prices you want.

2) Test if the prices were right for the market.

3) Increase the prices of your product/service as many as thrice a year, and never lose customers.

Would you be interested?

Oh sure you would. Because that factor of pricing bzzzzzzs around in your brain. And you figure, if you could find a way to increase prices without losing customers, aha, that would be nice.

And the best part of most-wanted information is that it’s unique, because it’s a tiny, tiny piece of advice.

So let’s take another example:

For example, there was a shopkeeper who could tell you if your employees were stealing from you. He put this information on ‘How to Spot (And Stop) Thieving Employees.’

The audio on tape–yes, back in the good ol’ days it was ‘tape–was less than 15 minutes long. The text feature was a handy reference card. Yup that was it. And he sold it for $200.

So why would a customer pay $200 for a 15-minute blab, and a reference card?

That customer sees the $200 price tag, but also sees the danger of thieving employees. Thieving employees can not only siphon off more than $200, but can encourage others to do the same.

Or at the very least, reduce morale in a store. So the ‘most-wanted’ information became valuable.

As valuable as the mother of the handicapped child telling you how to ‘bypass medical red-tape.’

Or who grows hundreds of tomatoes from just four plants, in a tiny square patch in your backyard.

Or the ‘audio-guy’ who teaches you how to ‘correctly compress files’ and avoid the volume making unwanted leaps and drops.

‘Most-wanted’ information doesn’t have to 100 pages to start

When we started out our business, we had a concept in our head. That concept was the Brain Audit. When I first put it down on paper, it amounted to sixteen measly pages. But it was ‘most-wanted’ information. And sixteen pages were all I could fill. Today, those sixteen pages have grown into a website, blog, and a very detailed book. But I too was ‘handicapped’ when I started out.

I didn’t know that much about marketing.

All I had was these measly sixteen pages. And all you probably have are nine pages.

All that mother of the handicapped child has is probably six pages.

But six pages of ‘wanted-information’ are what’s critical.

And the information you have, would be of extreme interest to someone else who has a handicapped child. And just like you, that parent has to deal with a range of emotions, and real-life issues of bringing up a handicapped child. Do you think that parent would want advice? Do you think that parent would want empathy?

Do you think that parent would want you to give as much detail as you possibly could, to bring up their child the way you have?

And more importantly, if you were that parent, would you pay $100 a year to get the information you so desperately seek? Across the planet, guess how many handicapped children are born every day.

Guess how many of those parents would gladly pay $100 a year to get informed? And guess how much $100 x 1000 amounts to per year?

But, but, but, but, but…you say

I know. You’re not confident anyone would buy your information. And heck, there’s no way out of this confidence issue other than to simply sell what you know.

Selling your information, leads people to buying. And buying leads to feedback and experience.

And of course, confidence. Because confidence can’t be bought. Or taught.

There’s really no shortage of people who want to write a book; a play; a movie.

The reason why they never get started is because they are trying to create a big production.
What you need isn’t a production, its ‘most-wanted’ information.

It could be twenty minutes of audio.

Ten pages of text.

Thirty seconds of video.

The ‘most-wanted’ information not only creates a stream of income, but also sets you out as the expert.

An expert who clients turn to when they want even more ‘most-wanted’ information. Even if it’s scribbles on the back of a napkin.

========================================

1) “There are marketing books and there are marketing books -

I bet there are not many you have read many times over?

The Brain Audit really teaches you the art of persuasion because it gives an insight into how people’s brains work. I have used the principles in writing WebPages, writing articles, making presentations, networking, negotiating and even writing submissions for a judge! But the best bit about the Brain Audit is that it actually works. The principles are easy to understand.
Would I recommend it to people serious about getting on in business?

1) “Absolutely.” Michael Smyth, approachablelawyer.com, Auckland Judge for yourself at http://www.psychotactics.com/brainaudit

2) “I started listening on my PC, and found it so compelling that I downloaded the audio files, and put them on my PDA to keep listening when I went out.”

Do your marketing ACTIONS reflect the struggle going on in your head?

Are you taking ACTION and getting results in your business?

Or, is what’s going on inside your head… your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings— conscious and subconscious— holding you back?

Fabienne Fredrickson shares her ideas about getting “rid of this GUNK and SLUDGE” inside your head.

Your Mental Attitude Dictates Your Number of Clients AND In-come

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” - Thomas Jefferson

You may be working your tail off to market your business and yet you’re still wondering why it hasn’t “happened” yet. I’ve seen this happen thousands of times. An entrepreneur is seemingly working HARD to get clients, working like a dog to bring in some good in-come and yet, the results just aren’t showing up. It’s like fighting an uphill battle and often seems like it’s not really worth it, or worse, like something’s wrong with us.

But the real battle that’s going on isn’t with the marketing, it’s that something’s wrong on the INSIDE. If there’s a struggle on the OUTSIDE, it simply means that one exists on the INSIDE, and it’s based on our conditioning. You see, how we are conditioned affects virtually every aspect of our life: our relationships, health, finances, success, even Client Attraction.

If you’re experiencing struggle or results aren’t happening fast enough, it just means there’s an inner conflict that affects how you think and feel, as well as your beliefs and fears. It’s the battle between your conscious and your unconscious.

“When your conscious mind thinks you want something but your subconscious mind thinks you don’t deserve it (or any other limiting belief), you will fail at getting what you want. Instead you will actually attract what your subconscious feels is right for you. In order to attract what you prefer, your conscious and subconscious have to be in agreement.” - Joe Vitale

If there’s an exterior struggle, like clients not coming in fast enough or the fact that money is REALLY tight, then it means that PART of you wants something (your conscious) and PART of you doesn’t (your subconscious). The bad news is, your subconscious has veto power over your conscious, always.

The GOOD news is, once you clear the interior struggle, the results you want happen almost instantly. That’s what’s happened to me in the past year or two and continues to happen. The more I match the inside with what I “say” I want, the more opportunities come my way, the more in-come shows up and the easier it all is. And I mean really easy. (And before you start going “there”, just remember that I’m no different than you. Once you work on your own Inner Game of Client Attraction, you too can experience the same results. That’s what we’ll do together in Miami in September at my ‘Mindset and Income Acceleration Retreat’. More details to follow soon.)

It’s not about working harder! If you want different results, you must change your subconscious beliefs and get clear on the fears that are not congruent with what you SAY you want. Here’s a few of the hundreds that I’ve come up with, based on a survey I did:

“They won’t pay for this”

“I don’t know enough”

“If I get bigger, they’ll find out I’m a fraud”

“I’m a failure”

“If I get too many clients, I’ll get overwhelmed”

“I’m not worth it”

“I can’t have it all”

“My expertise is common sense”

Etc.

If this is what’s going on in your subconscious, you’re essentially driving with the parking brake on, and we’ve got to do something about that if you want to begin seeing different results. Otherwise, you’ll continue to push really hard, work REALLY hard and not see the results you say you want.

Your Assignment:

If you want to succeed, get rid of this GUNK and SLUDGE inside. The key is to become AWARE of your which fears and subconscious beliefs are sabotaging you on a daily basis, like some of the ones listed above. Once you’re clear on them, figure out where they came from, process them and then release them. This will immediately change your behaviors, increase your in-come and new opportunities will start showing up, ones that you never expected. You’ll wonder why you struggled for so long.

Now, if the struggle is just about a lack of ACTION and you don’t know how to set up systems for marketing to attract ideal high-paying clients, I suggest getting a copy of the Client Attraction Home Study System™. It includes everything you need to know to prioritize what to work on first, clear the decks and set up simple, solid systems to consistently fill your pipeline and continually get new clients. It’s all step-by-step, not a big mishmash of things. So, you do step one of the system, and when you’re done with that, you move on to step two, and so on. That’s why my customers have gotten such great results from it. All the tools, scripts, templates, and examples are handed to you on a silver platter. So easy.

Ask yourself these questions:

Are you seeing the results you want to see in your business?

Are you making the kind of money you want to make?

Do you have the quality and quantity of clients you want to have?

Is your business truly different?

Do you want your business to be different?

Now, let’s look in the mirror.

Do you continue to make the same choices you’ve always made, which got you the results you’re seeing right now?

Do you take the same Daily Actions you’ve always taken?

Now, if you answered “No” to the first set of questions, and “Yes” to the second…

Chances are the Choices and Actions include NOT to DO much Marketing.

Here’s the thing…

If you want Results…

If you want More Money…

If you want More Clients…

If you want Better Clients…

If you want you business to be Different…

You MUST make Marketing a Top Priority.

It’s that simple.

There is no magic marketing medicine. No secret client magnet website that will solve all your problems.

Over the past twenty-eight years, I’ve worked with thousands of small business owners, as a financial advisor and marketing strategist. This has provided me with a unique perspective of getting to know some top, very smart, and savvy entrepreneurs, and getting the opportunity to work with them very closely. I’ve gotten an inside look at how they structure their businesses and what they DO to build and maintain success.

And here’s what it boils down to:

The Basics.

Consistently Marketing, day in and day out.

Nothing sexy, nothing CNN News-breaking.

Simply a relentless focus on marketing on a regular basis, whether you feel like it or not.

Make Your Business DIFFERENT this week.
